week 10

Teapots:

Craft:For this particular teapot illustration I used the paintbrush stroke.  To show the darker spots of the vase or teapot, I drew more black lines.
Concept: I wanted to stay away from using color because I did not like how it looked when I put color in there.
Composition:I did not put a background because I like how it looks without one and the vase is the only focus of the picture.

Craft: I started with the background and used the pen tool to illustrate everything.  I also used the fill and eyedrop tools to fill in the objects with color.
Concept: I kept everything simple so that it looked less realistic and I could get everything in the illustration faster.
Composition: For this one I put the teapot in a space and illustrated the background because that was the purpose of the assignment.

Craft: I used the paintbrush tool again and started with illustrating the teapot and then started to illustrate the rest.
Concept: I used the paintbrush tool because I like the way it makes the teapot look.  I kept it in black and white because the teapot was white and I just wanted the outline to be black.
Composition: I was not able to finish the background in time, so I left it like this,

My purse!

The three pictures of my object all have three things in common.  They are that the purse is in there, the background remains the same, and each one has the same stroke.  However I varied them by playing with and switching around the color of different objects.

Week 8

Here are my five versions, and the differences between them:
version 1:

The difference between this version and the other four is that I made this one all black and white, so it almost looks like an old photograph or a negative of the actual photo.I also used the circular gradient tool in black and gray for the sky in the background.

version 2:

What I did with this one to make it unique, is I made everything bright, unrealistic colors, except for the sign.  This way, the sign stands out as the only real object in the picture.

version 3:

For this version, I switched the colors of the sign around and made the background look gloomy.  I also made the sidewalk white.  It makes it look as if it is dusk and a light is shining on the sign.  It really draws the attention to the sign.

version 4:

With this version, I used my favorite colors on the sign, and made the background a sunset gradient.  I also switched the shades of the objects to make the colors more subtle  and to make it appear as though it is in a desert, or a tropical warm place.

version 5:

For this one, I kept everything realistic colors, but made them bright and cartoon-like.  I also used a pink and purple gradient, colors that don't blend with the rest, on the sign to make it pop out at the viewer.
