week 11

For these three drawings, I used the paintbrush tool for the stroke of each one.  However, for one drawing the dog is in the kitchen with a food dish because she is fat, lazy, and likes to eat.  The second drawing includes the dog and her food dish, but blown up to look even larger.  This is to emphasize just how large the dog is and how much she enjoys her food.  There is also a garbage can in the background to explain that the dog likes to get into the garbage, too.  The last drawing is of the dog lying on a blanket on someone's lap.  The concept of this drawing is to suggest that she is very lazy.  While the composition of each one of the drawings varies, there are a few similarities in the craft and concept of each illustration.  For example, the brush stroke of each drawing is the same because I like the way it looks.  Each drawing is also made up solely of black and white.  I think that color would have taken away from what I was trying to emphasize and would change the sketchy look of the illustrations.  Last, Each drawing involves the dog, which is the main thing being portrayed in each piece of work.
